![]() ![]() Whether playing the Light Side or the Dark Side, on your turn, you must match a card from your hand to the card on the top of the DISCARD pile, either by number, color or symbol (symbols represent Action Cards). The person to the left of the dealer starts play. The top card of the DRAW pile is turned over to begin a discard pile (the Light Side cards will be facing UP). Place the remainder of the deck with the Light Side facedown to form a draw pile (the Dark Side cards will be facing UP). Hold the cards with the Light Side facing you and the Dark Side facing your opponents. The dealer shuffles and deals each player 7 cards. Since the deck is two-sided, make sure all the cards of each side are facing the same way: all the Light Side cards facing one way, all the Dark Side cards facing the other way.Įach player draws a card and then reveals the Light Side the player that draws the highest number is the dealer (count any card with a symbol as zero). Note: Remember to score points based on which side (light or dark) the game ended on. Points in rounds accumulate and the first player to reach 500 points wins. Player's must play with the Dark Side cards until someone else plays another FLIP card, and then play goes back to the Light Side, and so on until someone has played all the cards in their hand, ending the round.Īs always, if you are the first player to get rid of all of your cards in a round, you score points for the cards your opponents are left holding. The Dark Side has different Action Cards with much stiffer penalties. You start playing with the Light Side, but whenever someone plays a FLIP card, the deck is flipped over (as are the cards in your hand) and now everyone must play off of the Dark Side of the cards. Once a player reaches 500 points, the player with the lowest score wins the game.UNO FLIP plays like regular UNO, except there are two sides to the deck of cards: a "light" side and a "dark" side. Each remaining player earns points based on the cards in their hand. The player who goes out earns zero points. The first player to reach 500 points wins the game ALTERNATIVE SCORING Number cards are worth the value of the number on the card. If playing in the dark side, score the dark side of the cards. If the round ends in the light side, score based on the light side of the cards. Only the side of the card that players are playing with at the end of the round is counted for scoring purposes. ![]() ![]() SCORINGĮach card remaining in hand has a point value, and those points are awarded to the player who goes out. The round ends once a player has played their final card. If the next player begins their turn with the lack of a UNO call being recognized, the player is safe. If they do not say it before the next player begins their turn, and someone else catches them, they must draw two cards. ONE CARD LEFTĪs a player plays their second to last card, they must say UNO. The new top card of the discard pile determines what card must be played by the next player. The draw pile and discard pile are both flipped over as well. Each play flips their hand so the light side of the cards is facing out. FLIP CARDSĪfter playing a flip card, all cards are flipped. In the case of a Wild Draw Color, the challenger must draw until they get the designated color and then draw two more cards. However, if the challenger is wrong, they must draw four cards instead. If they have a card that could have been played to the pile, they must draw two cards. If challenged, the player who played the card must show their hand. If a Wild Draw 2 (light side) or a Wild Draw Color (dark side) is played, the player who would draw may challenge the card. Play continues with each player matching the top card on the discard pile with a card from their hand or drawing. If this occurs, all cards are flipped, and the game begins on the dark side. It is possible for the turned up card to be a Flip. If it is a Wild, the dealer picks a color. If it is a reverse, the dealer goes first with play continuing in the opposite direction. For example, if the turned up card is a Skip, the first player is skipped and play passes to the next player. If the turned up card is an action card, the card’s action takes place. If that card can be played, they may play it. If they are unable to match the card or choose not to, they draw one card. The player must match the color or number of the turned up card. The player left of the dealer goes first. Place the remaining cards light side down and turn up one card to begin the discard pile.ĭeal passes left each round. ![]() Make sure all 112 cards are facing the same direction, shuffle, and deal seven cards to each player.
